Building citizenship: habits & opportunities towards the perfoming arts access

Daniela BOURET, Director, Teatro Solís

The focus is put on research, on working with the people and with the territory as means to develop projects with those who are having access barriers to the performing arts

This workshop addresses the reflection about how cultural and other institutions, particularly in the last years in Uruguay, are approaching the performing arts accessibility and audience formation.

In this session marketing is not the engine for audience development actions and strategies, but instead, is audience mediation and formation through participatory, social and educational programs that are using the performing arts to develop citizenship.

The focus is put on research, on working with the people and with the territory as means to develop projects with those who are having access barriers to the performing arts. Using examples and case studies, we will try to analyze the components and the theoretical underpinning about how taste is socially conformed and how can we build citizenship using the performing arts.

Date: Oct. 26 / 15:00 – 18:00 h.

Place: MSMK – Madrid School of Marketing

Language: Spanish (NO simultaneous translation to English)

Limited capacity: max. 25 people per session
